Back to School

Hey hey y’all!
So you all got to see all the fun ways we personalized the kids back to school supplies, but I wanted to share some others I loved.

You know sometimes when you can’t find the inspiration you need? You have a slight vision but can’t “put the pen to the paper?” I surely hope some of my Cricut projects gave you some creative juices to get going. If not, here’s some friends projects I think you will love!

We love Harry Potter, this was a fun one we really loved!

Always fun making sweet gifts for the teachers!

Another mom like myself that personalizes it allllll!

I love how Maria let her son design his shirt for his virtual learning.

Love how this mama set up the classroom! We used similar bins but I love this setup.

Okay Stacey did the most! How cute is this room with wall decals?

Loveee these shirts & the design on this canvas pencil bag! We’re definitely trying it!
We love using our Joy machine & this print for iron on vinyl is one of our favs! Another project idea we’re loving. Such a great idea

Okay! I want these school supplies. Giving off all the boho vibes.
Looking for labels? This mama shows you how to make these super cute labels.

Love all these back to school ideas and can’t wait to try some ourselves!

Back to School with Cricut 2020

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Cricut. All opinions are 100% mine. #sponsored

But come on it’s Cricut. How can we not include Cricut in school supplies??

We weren’t even sure there would be a “back to school” for 2020. But hey here we are. Our school district had 3 options for students this year.

A: homeschool B: two days at school-brick & mortar then 3 days at home with virtual learning. C: complete virtual learning.

It was actually pretty tough for us to decide. We initially wanted to homeschool but after much thought I realized I wouldn’t be doing my kids the best service trying to homeschool them. So of course option A and C weren’t the best for us. Trying to teach them 2nd and 4th grade with two one years old around is not easy! I learned my lesson last year!

Putting all the fear of everything this year has thrown at us aside, we decided to be excited for the 2020 school year. Prep and get ready for it just like any other year and possibly make it a little extra!

Here’s some of the things I customized for them! With my Official Cricut Joy machine!

Other than the normal school supplies for their grades I had to get things to help with the virtual learning days. So I added a book bin and a caddy to help keep their desks organized!

The kids really loved the caddies with all their school supplies in it! Of course we had to have separate caddies because siblings don’t share!

My mom picked up these little plastic jars at the dollar store. They had lids but I thought they would be perfect for keeping the kids pencils separated in the caddies. It’s made it easier for them to grab what they need instead of rummaging around in the caddy. I added the names & they are so perfect!

Had to have the folders & notebooks jazzed up you too!

I found these amazingggggg holographic pencil cases in a 3 pack & had to get them for Jennings. I wanted to change it up and put some sayings on these. I knew with all the changes this year she might need some extra encouragement throughout the day! How cute are these???? Kind is Cool. Rise & Shine. And Love Wins.

More than ever the schools are encouraging the kids to not share supplies. Thats so tough for my two! They love sharing with their friends. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve found some other kids stuff in their book bags (last year of course) & ours gone! But we know that’s not good right now so anything to help encourage the kids to keep their own stuff helps! Thanks Covid!

My bestie & I joked that our boys, who are besties as well are going to get kicked out the first day for hugging! Lol!

The best before school picture we were getting after so long off! Here’s to an amazing 2020-2021 school year!

For all these projects I used official Cricut products. Cricut Joy machine, permanent vinyl, weeding tool and a scraper tool! This was my first year personalizing there kids school supplies with my own Cricut & it was so easy! And not to mention fun!!

I love the Cricut Joy because it’s so compact. No buttons, just an app on your phone or computer! The vinyl is a smart vinyl which means no mats, just load the paper. It’s so easy Jennings could show you how to use it. It’s perfect for small spaces or busy moms.

Let me know in the comments how your area is taking on school this year! Are you going all out or nah??

Tiny House with kids

Hi. Hello,
Welcome to our blog!

As my first blog post I feel introducing myself & the family is how it should go, right?

My name is Laci and I am the ring leader in charge of this circus. It all started on a cool day in fall. Jk. Jk. You’ll see, I’m what my husband calls “my own biggest fan.” I’m pretty cheesy but it’s just who I am.

But seriously! Justin & I got married on a beach in South Carolina in 2010. It was a perfect wedding that started a marriage of timeless love.. We had our first son, Jude on October 3, 2009 but he was just to early & precious for this world. His story is for another day. You will see me reference my 5 kids because he still counts.

Our rainbow baby Jennings was born in 2011 and our miracle boy, Fisher in 2013.

So why the “TinyHardins?” Well in 2017 we got tired of the big two story house, the constant cleaning & mainly feeling like we we’re all spread out in the house that we kicked big city living & went tiny!

We found what they call a park model camper that had an additional bedroom & living area & we knew we had to have it! It was permanently parked, lake view at our favorite place, Lake Waccamaw. The lake is a special place for us. Justin proposed there, Jennings first home was there and we’ve lived there multiple times throughout our marriage. So we knew it was perfect for us.

This used to be the “porch.” We (my husband) laid 100 year old barn wood on the floors. He also tore down that barn. Removed a sliding glass door and made the entry way on the left & refinished the wall.

Four people, one bathroom. Oh the fun! But seriously that was the only downfall to this tiny house! Small house, small hot water heater=short showers!

When we moved in & changed our whole lifestyle I wanted to change our IG name & that’s why we became the TinyHardins. I’ve had so many ask why or guess it’s just because we’re petite people. But no. We truly enjoyed the tiny living. It was a lifestyle that felt right to us.

If you follow us on IG or Facebook you’ll see we’re no longer living tiny. {Que heart shatter emoji} We found out we were expecting T W I N girls in October 2018.

We knew as much as we would love to, we couldn’t make tiny living with four kids, two adults & Huckleberry (he’s our Great Dane) work.

We announced it to our kids & friends Christmas morning 2019.  Our daughter had asked for a baby sister for the past two Christmases so we knew we had to incorporate that into our announcement!

We hope you stick around. We’ve got so much to share!

Georgia Grey & June Elise 2019. I plan to write about all the kids so I’ll go into more details when that time comes!

I could go on & on about that tiny house but I’ll stop here for today. It was an amazing time & season in our lives. Of course it wasn’t rainbows & sunshine all the time but it’s a season I wouldn’t trade for anything!
